Employment Tips for Experienced Applicants

Not so fast

Be prepared for the fact that finding a suitable job may take longer than you would like. In some cases, you may encounter the problem of over-qualification, and in others, with the difficulty of finding a suitable position that would allow you to fully open up and satisfy your salary expectations. If you are a really good specialist, it is not necessary to rush to the first available job without exploring all possible options.
Right competition

Do not compete with young professionals, let them compete with you. You no longer need to attend university, learn from your mistakes or internship. You already have experience that others only get - this is your trump card. Prepare stories from your practice, tell about achievements, about how you solved complex problems and achieved good results. The employer must clearly understand what his company will get if he does not save on a good employee. Focus on the lack of need for training and excellent knowledge in all the mechanisms of your field of activity.
Don't stand still

There is an opinion that experienced candidates already know enough in their opinion, and do not want to learn new skills or change their habits and methods. Prove that this is not so. Tell us about the new schemes of work that you recently applied, about the software that you have mastered, about the courses and trainings that you attended, the books that you read. The employer should know that you are ready for possible changes and learn new things, and not just use the accumulated experience.
Plan

You are no longer a graduate of yesterday; you should clearly see your career path and know what you are striving for. Show your employer your confidence and firm position. If the employer knows that his company meets your desire to work and develop, then you will be the first applicant for the position. A person who knows what he wants is likely to achieve this, and accordingly will do his job well.

Errors in choosing a job

Awl and soap Often dissatisfied with their current or past work, applicants find almost the same, the advantages of which overlap with the past minuses, but have their drawbacks. In order not to be disappointed again, you should first clearly state that you were not satisfied with the previous place. It is advisable to write down all the points in order to make it easier to trace the absence of these factors in a new job. To do this, you need to carefully read the vacancy announcement, study the company's website and reviews about it on the Internet, put the right questions to the interviewer during the interview. The reasons for changing jobs can be very different and individual for everyone: burnout, inadequate wages, conflicts with management or colleagues, etc. Having decided on the reasons why you want to leave, think about whether it is possible to solve ...
